169979 - Mozilla completely freezes when edit|preferences is selected

Quite simple. Mozilla freezes on a w98 first ed, using 1.2a, when selecting
Edit|Preferenes. (the preferences window doesn't even appear, all mozilla
windows don't work, and it shows as the process not responding)

If you need any kind of help to pinpoint the problem, I'd be more than glad to help.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on Edit
2. Click on preferences
3. boom. (profit! ;)

Actual Results:  
freeze

Expected Results:  
open the preferences window

It didn't start a bug report, just freezes.

Now I tried changing the prefs.js to the .bak and not having it at all.
same results :(

could you try a clean profile? (you can create one from the profile manager)

While playing with the new profile, the problem seems to be with my XUL.mfl file.
(just deleting it made mozilla edit|preferences work again)
