- Firefox Nightly 89.0a1 (Build ID: 20210322174641)
- Firefox Beta 88.0b1 (Build ID: 20210322185611)
[Affected Platforms]:
- Mac 11.2.3
- Windows 10 x64
- Ubuntu 20.04 x64
[Prerequisites]:
- Have the latest version of Firefox Nightly installed.
[Steps to reproduce]:
- Open the Firefox browser with the profile from prerequisites.
- Navigate to the "about:logins" page.
- Click on the Menu button.
- Select the “Import from a File…” option.
- Select a non-CSV and click on the “Open” button from the “Import Logins File” picker.
- Observe the “Import Error” modal.
[Expected result]:
- The "Unable to Read File Make sure you selected a CSV file.” message is displayed.
[Actual result]: - The “File Format Issue Incorrect or missing column headers. Make sure the file includes columns for username, password and URL.” message is displayed.

Technically, this behavior is correct but we can improve the string that appears in this scenario. We should help the user figure out why this error appears.

Kaira, thanks for being ready to take up this work. I don't have an improved string for this bug...so until then, I'm not sure any work can be done for this issue. I'll update the ticket once we have a better string for this case.

This issue is still reproducible on the latest Nightly 116.0a1(19-06-2023) using macOS 11.6.8.
