User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:86.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/86.0
Steps to reproduce:
Open website in Reader View. Click "Listen" and click on "Voice" select.
Actual results:
Voices list appears with 554 items.
Expected results:
Not sure where Firefox pulls all those voices from, but there must be a way either to reduce this list, or group voices into smaller batches, for convenience. Some voices might be listed under different names.
Tested on Fedora 33.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Reader Mode' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Eitan, are you able to help direct this to the right person? I'm assuming this is a function of how the speech API exposes these.

Yes. Not sure there is a good remedy since we are pulling the list from whatever the OS offers, but i'll look into it. Might need to do some filtering on the narrate ui front if the list is correct but overwhelming to users.

Issue is still here, and what is worse - now there are dozens of voices listed as "English (en-US)" at the end. While they sound different, maybe some additional data should be added to them to tell them apart? If help is needed, I could try searching where those voices are coming from. I'm guessing those are default from Fedora Linux 38 (Workstation Edition). Although I might have fiddled with Speech Dispatcher.
