We'd like to experiment with changes in the notification UX to increase the number of users reading notifications.
To help us pick the best UX, we need the ability to measure performance of each of the experiments.
Actions we want to measure for each experiment:
- Number of times we display the notification icon (red bell) to users
- Number of clicks on the notification icon
- Number of clicks on the “See all notifications” link in the dropdown
- Number of clicks on the “Mark all Notifications as read” link in the add-on
Data we want to store for each action:
- Experiment ID (or a cohort)
- Action name (could also be part of data blob, see below)
- Datetime
- Data blob (any action-specific data, e.g. Number or items marked as read)
