RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1696794

People

(Reporter: jesse, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/89.0.4389.90 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

Using this demo interface: https://codepen.io/jessecrossen-vt/pen/XWpjaew

  1. Click RECORD
  2. Allow microphone access
  3. Count to eight out loud
  4. Click STOP
  5. Click play on the audio controls that appear

Actual results:

You will only hear about 25% of the recorded audio, (e.g. "one... two...").

Expected results:

You should hear the complete recording, (e.g. "one... two... three... four... five... six... seven... eight..."). Chrome and FireFox 86 show the correct behavior. I'm not seeing the problem on nightly build 89.0a1 (2021-03-29) (64-bit), but am reporting it anyway just in case.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Recording' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thanks for the bug report. This looks like a regression from bug 1464268 (in Firefox 87) that was fixed in bug 1696794 (in Firefox 88). I'll mark this as a duplicate of bug 1696794.
