I am using a proxy to read my newsgroups. Each newsgroup is
mapped to a seperate port so I would need the settings (example)
212.17.75.34:1019 newsgroup 1
212.17.75.34:1020 newsgroup 2
1. Assigning the second news-account gives me a "An account with that user
name and server name already exists. Please enter a different user name
and/or server name.".
I think it should only be checked for servername/Port number to be identical?
2. Also I'm not able to connect to my newsserver going over the proxy
(212.17.75.34). I always get a "Could not connect to server 212.17.75.34; the
connection was refused" message which cannot be true as a
"telnet 212.17.75.34 1019" on the shell works fine.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the news-preferences
2. set up account 1 using servername aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd and port xxxx
3. set up account 2 using servername aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd and port yyyy
4. click the ok button
Actual Results:
"An account with that user name and server name already exists. Please enter a
different user name and/or server name." message
Expected Results:
create the account with the given settings
