User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; PL; rv:1.2a) Gecko/20020910
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; PL; rv:1.2a) Gecko/20020910
When you have a localized Mozilla build which doesn't yield en-US Shockwave
Player will not install.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install localized Mozilla build which puts in Windows Registry anything else
than en-US (like from here:
http://mozillapl.org/index.php?name=MozillaPLMirrors&newlang=eng)
2. Run Shockwave Player installer from
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome/ - a dialog will popup.
3. Download installer, exit Mozilla, start installation.
Actual Results:
Installer will not recognize non-English Mozilla build even if you manually
point it to the Plugins folder. Installer will not start.
Expected Results:
Shockwave plugin gets installed.
Workaround -
1) Hit Browse while you'll be at the browser list in Shocwave installer,
2) point it to the Plugins directory of localized Mozilla build,
3) change file name: mozilla.exe to netscape.exe
4) Installation will be completed.
If you have previous English version you can also manually copy plugins files.

Yep,
it's even worse as one can not choose alternative browsers during install. So
the only way to install plugin right now is to manually move its file to
Mozilla/Plugin directory (np32dsw.dll in case it helps anyone).
What happens right now Installer starts and proceeds to the end with no errors
but the plugin is not installed to Mozilla/Plugins directory.
