1703775 - Using color picker in an about:[...] page crashes the browser

Steps to reproduce:

Open about:about
Open dev tools
In Inspector, click the color picker
Click somewhere on the page

Actual results:

Firefox crashes.
But if dev tools are open before navigating to the page, instead of crashing, the value in the picker is empty and nothing gets copied to clipboard.

Expected results:

Maybe an empty color value, but not a crash.

I confirm that the color picker is not working on most about: pages
By not working I mean that the cursor doesn't show a "zoomed in" version of the page, and if we manage to copy a color, it will be incorrect.

List of about:pages where the eyedropper seems to work:

• about:debugging
• about:newtab
• about:logins
• about:loginsimportreport
• about:logo
• about:performance
• about:preferences
• about:processes ("works" but crashes when I try to copy the value)
• about:sync-log
• about:welcome

I don't have a crash consistently on about:about, but I managed to get one while testing other pages, here's one of my crash signatures (macos) https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/1142e77f-741f-4bf5-bcb8-22d6b0210408#tab-details

From the crash signature it seems linked to Bug 1701027.

Let's wait for this bug to be fixed first and then check if we still have eyedropper issues.

On Windows I no longer have any crash, and the color picker does work. Can we close this?
