User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:90.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/90.0
Steps to reproduce:
- open firefox-nightly with MOZ_ENABLE_WEBRENDER=1
- Open about:support
Actual results:
- Window protocol shows xwayland instead of wayland
- WebGL 1 Driver Renderer shows "WebGL 1 Driver Renderer WebGL creation failed:
- WebglAllowWindowsNativeGl:false restricts context creation on this system. ()
- Exhausted GL driver options. (FEATURE_FAILURE_WEBGL_EXHAUSTED_DRIVERS)"
Expected results:
Protocol should be wayland.
Error messages related to webgl should not be present
Also, terminal shows "[GFX1-]: glxtest: Could not connect to wayland socket"

Summary: firefox nightly running in xwayland in wayland session with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 → Firefox 90/Wayland: glxtest: Could not connect to wayland socket
(In reply to Darkspirit from comment #6)
Does this problem still occur?
Testing it in latest nightly, browser does launch in wayland as a wayland window
