It doesn't appear that there's a mechanism to communicate pixel density via the AVIF spec (or HEIF/MIAF/ISOBMFF upon which it's based), so it seems reasonable to support this via EXIF, which can be embedded per MIAF (ISO/IEC 23008-12:2017) § 8.
