Florian, do you have time to check this? Could be from Bug 1635442?

Bug 1635442 changed the timing and likely uncovered an existing issue introduced by bug 1440203. The fix is to port https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/5d24d236fbb0e6715d94338dc0bf3bffb254bc37
