I am aware that it's currently implemented per spec but compared to Firefox 88 the zoom controls in the app menu looks unpolished and I think they would look much better if they would have some spacing around the icons. At the moment the icons stick to the borders of their "background boxes". And I am not aware of any other place in the Firefox UI where something similar happens.
