Especially Google allows users to comment on invites, and add how many ppl you're bringing.
Thunderbird doesn't show these comments.
In the invite the data is encoded using X-RESPONSE-COMMENT and X-NUM-GUESTS as:
ATTENDEE;CUTYPE=INDIVIDUAL;ROLE=REQ-PARTICIPANT;PARTSTAT=ACCEPTED;CN=John;X-NUM-GUESTS=2;X-RESPONSE-COMMENT="Yes plus two guests.":mailto:ex@example.com

This is not just a Google issue.
People using Evolution Mail are able to respond to a meeting invitation with a comment. In this case, it is stored in a COMMENT field in the VEVENT.
It is possible to view the comments by opening the ics file in a text editor, but if you don't know that someone has made a comment, it's unlikely that you will do this, so potentially miss important information which your meeting attendee thinks you have received.
You need to log in
before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
