(The site I refer to employs a rather pernicious tracking technique; probably best to use private browsing to view it. Better still because that shows the problem more effectively with the contrast between the native window colour and the site.)

The site referred to performs a number of redirects as part of its operation. The page that is shown each time is mostly white, so if the native window colour is dark (dark mode or private browsing) that is shown as the page renders, which causes a flashing or low frequency strobing effect.

The same effect isn't apparent in other browsers, even when they too are in dark mode. I think that this is the result of Firefox not swapping in the new page content cleanly. In this case, the effect is quite distressing. I'm fairly sure that I am NOT photosensitive, but the flashing is quite annoying.

This might be more pronounced as a result of me being a long way from the server, which would make loading time worse, but that should not make any difference.

I only see this with Fission enabled. I'm guessing that this is just a particularly bad instance of bug 1677324.
