Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0

Steps to reproduce:

(I disabled search from address bar by toggling configuration parameter 'keyword.enabled' to 'false' already long time ago. I do not search from address bar but prefer to search from the search field of FF startpage.)

I enter input to the search field of FF startpage and hit Enter.

Actual results:

Since FF 89 the input to the search field of FF startpage is no longer captured there but automatically goes to the address bar. Search in address bar fails, as it is disabled.

Expected results:

Input should go to the search field of FF startpage and search should start from there.

Summary: Search field on startpage of FF not working → Search handoff fails when search from address bar is disabled

I'm duping this to bug 1713827 instead since the reporter mentions they disabled keyword.enabled.
