DESCRIPTION: A right click within a text input or a textarea causes a crash. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: * load this page in apprunner * click in an input or a textarea ACTUAL RESULTS: * crash EXPECTED RESULTS: * take one wild guess... DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY ON: * Linux, apprunner, 1999-10-24-08-M11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Could this be at all related to the fact that in the 10-23 and 10-24 builds, it takes about 30-45 sec. for the query page or a bug page (like this one) to load? (It also takes a similar amount of time for the browser to load, though...)
Reassigning to Steve.

Summary: right-click within text input or textarea causes crash → [DOGFOOD]right-click within text input or textarea causes crash
Target Milestone: M12
This is a nasty crash, putting on dogfood radar, propose this be selected for PDT+ Christopher -- can you try this on other platforms too?
OS: Linux → All
Hardware: PC → All
Not just a Linux problem. I was also able to reproduce on NT using the 1999102708 build.
The performance problems I mentioned in "ADDITIONAL INFORMATION" seem fixed in the 10-27 build.
I did not change the Target Milestone. Either Mozilla did it or Bugzilla did. Changing it back...
Putting on [PDT+]radar. cpratt, can you get us a stack trace?
Stack trace is at http://schist/17164.txt - Talkback is still not working in recent builds.
Whiteboard: [PDT+] → [PDT+] fix in hand. expected checkin this weekend.
Target Milestone: M12 → M11
chnaged to M11. The fix was necessary now for other improvements I was making for M11.

Well, the contextual menu is showing up in an utterly wacky location, but at least this isn't crashing. 1999110508 build, Linux.
this bug is only about the crash on right click, not at all about the menu or how it operates. thanks!
