Have you reported this to Ubuntu, and was this identified as an upstream issue in Firefox code before reporting it here?

I have not contacted the Ubuntu community, I switched to chrome, for two days now there have been no sound problems like in FF.

I tried to reproduce this issue on my end on a Dell Laptop with ubuntu 20.04 and the issue does not occur on my end, are you hearing this using a headset ? or maybe a surround system ? It may also be caused by the Jack entry at the back, Ubuntu always had issues with device plugins.

Denis do you mind trying our latest Nightly build and see if the issue still occurs there as well ? you can find the build here : https://nightly.mozilla.org/

I reported what is likely the same bug here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1950533

I recreated the issue with the upstream build, and haven't been able to trigger it on my Dell laptop with Ubuntu 20.04 either.
The affected system has speakers plugged into an audio jack.

Confirmed Chromium does not do this.
