RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1714810

People

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0

Steps to reproduce:

Select some text on any page (I do this to mark my position), then middle click to auto-scroll.

Actual results:

Immediately upon middle-clicking. the selected text is unselected, even when middle clicking on the selection (which chrome supports).

Expected results:

As of 89 this is new behavior. This should be user manageable via about:config at least. It's quite annoying that Firefox keeps deciding to make changes like this without warning, gradually removing the things I like about the browser until I may as well use any other browser. </rant>
