Affected versions

  • Fx92.0b2
  • Fx93.0a1
  • Fx91.0 RC

Affected platforms

  • macOS
  • Windows 10
  • Ubuntu 20

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Navigate to TheSwishLife.
  3. Click on any article from the page.

Expected result

  • The page loads without any issues.

Actual result

  • The page doesn't load.

Regression range

  • This doesn't look like a regression, but more likely a website change that Firefox can't correctly interpret. I could reproduce the issue all the way back to Firefox 70.

Additional notes

  • Clicking on another article in private browsing loads it without any issues.
  • There is an infinite loading animation on the page that should display the article.
  • This occurred on a fresh profile (no addons, no changes from default were made).
  • The browser console puts out the following error:

GET https://theswishlife.com/wp-content/themes/newsmag/assets/css/style.css.map
[HTTP/2 404 Not Found 300ms]

  • The webconsole lists the following error and warning:

Uncaught Error: Bootstrap's JavaScript requires jQuery version 1.9.1 or higher, but lower than version 3

We appreciate your report. For me, articles are not loading on any browser used, as the page is stuck in a loading loop. Reporter, can you confirm please with a screenshot that articles are loading on a browser different from Firefox?

Tested with:

Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 97.0a1 (2022-01-06) (64-bit)/ Chrome Version 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build)
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64

Hello Raul,

I've attached a screenshot as instructed.
Please note, the articles load on chrome after clicking 'back' when stuck in the loading loop and then clicking on another article, while this is not the case in Firefox. In Firefox, even if doing the same steps (going back to the main page and clicking on another article) the page is still stuck in an infinite loading animation.

Thank you, Cristian for the extra info. I can confirm that the issue is reproducible following your steps to reproduce.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Access : https://theswishlife.com/.
  2. Click on the desired article.
  3. Click on the back button of the browser.
  4. Click on a different article.
  5. Observe.

Expected result:
The second article loads after pressing the back button.

Actual result:
The second article does not load.

Tested with:

Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 98.0a1 (2022-01-10) (64-bit)
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64

Notes:

  1. Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
  2. Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly.
  3. Works as expected using Chrome

I get the same behavior in Chrome Canary Version 104.0.5094.0. Also it takes multiple page refreshes to make articles load in Chrome, otherwise the page is stuck in a loading loop. So this is likely a site issue and they should be contacted.

I've moved this issue to webcompat github repo.
