User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0
Steps to reproduce:
System upgraded from debian10 to debian11.
Actual results:
The whole firefox rendering will get stuck, and when the window size is changed, the interface will show the result of the rendering and then get stuck again.
Expected results:
Additional information: Not only that, the latest version of Firefox-Nightly also has this problem. Everything is fine with the latest version of firefox-esr.
My current solution: add '--display=' option when starting firefox, '--display=' can't have any value.

Does this occur right after booting your computer or only after waking up from suspend (bug 1693445)?

Does the problem happen for you in Firefox 90?

--display
seems to map into MOZ_GDK_DISPLAY
. It is passed into gtk_init
to override the default provided in DISPLAY
. What confuses me is that DISPLAY
appears to be empty from the about:support (does gtk_init reset the env var) so overriding it to be empty shouldn't do anything (?).

Can this bug be fixed by uninstalling the deprecated non-modesetting Intel driver with $ sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-video-intel
and doing a reboot? (bug 1710400 comment 21)

Alternatively, has this been fixed in nightly?

Thanks. While not guaranteed, it's likely a duplicate of bug 1710400
