Steps to reproduce:

  1. long ago I began customising the menu bar to accommodate things that would be better in an additional toolbar

  2. today I experimentally removed something from the menu bar

  3. attempted to drag the thing back to the menu bar

Actual results:

  1. it seems impossible to customise the menu bar (loss of functionality)

Expected results:

  1. menu bar customisation

On closer inspection, it seems that there's difficulty with 'Bookmarks toolbar items'.

With (for example) a flexible space and Bookmarks toolbar items already added to the menu bar:

  • the flexible space is easily dragged then dropped to the left, or right, of Bookmarks toolbar items
  • it's difficult to drop Bookmarks toolbar items to the left of the flexible space.
