It contains a more recent version of GTK, fixing some Wayland issues that are still present in the 20.08 version (notably degraded performance due to missing opaque region API in GTK).
Further more it ships more recent Mesa, which should also have a positive effect on some hardware.

This is an upstream issue: https://gitlab.com/freedesktop-sdk/freedesktop-sdk/-/issues/1323 - we'll just need to wait for them to fix it up and can reland then.

The fix got approved and is in the landing queue. Immediately afterwards there will be a new dot release, after which we can reland this. I.e. we're waiting for https://gitlab.com/freedesktop-sdk/freedesktop-sdk/-/merge_requests/5899
