browser freezes on start up

Details
When Mozilla starts up, it asks something like, "Mozilla is not your default
broswer. Would you like to make it your default browser?" When I choose "Yes",
the Browser freezes and everthing within the browser is unclickable. When I go
to Window's Task Manager, it lists Mozilla as "Not responding". I also have IE
installed and I am running Mozilla 1.2a.
