User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021007
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021007
After some browsing this forum, Mozilla fails to open any further TCP
connections to that server when I try to display a new message.
I noticed that this happens after Mozilla fails to realize that the webserver
has finished sending the data and all TCP connections are closed. The Mozilla
logo keeps spinning and if I then try to display a new page Mozilla won't even
try to open a TCP connection. I can still connect to any other webserver - just
connecting to that particular server is no longer possible!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.juramail.info/forum/list.php?f=3
2. open some of the messages until Mozilla no longer connects
3.

Works for me. Reporter, are you using a proxy, or have you installed an new
version of Mozilla on top of an old one?

I am using build 2002102308 and I can still reproduce the problem on this site
all the time (I think this _only_ happens when browsing the forum, but I am not
sure about that).
I always delete the mozilla.org directory with everything in it before
installing the new build. Even creating a new user profile doesn't fixt this
problem.
You need to browse the forum for some time to trigger the bug. I think trying to
load a new message without waiting until the current page has finished loading
might be causing the problem.
I directly connect to the Internet without using any proxy. I use Kerio Personal
Firewall 3.0 beta 3 and the firewall connection monitor doesn't show any
attempts by Mozilla to make any connections to that server. I can still download
messages from the POP3 server and browse other websites. Mozilla just no longer
connects to that particular server!
I just triggered the bug again. I replaced the hostname with the IP address of
the server (URL http://212.227.119.101/forum/list.php?f=3) and Mozilla again
connected to the server but unfortunately it returned a 400 error (it also does
it when I try to retrieve the same URL with wget.)
Here is the HTTP log of a connection to the forum on that host:
---request begin---
GET /forum/list.php?f=3 HTTP/1.0
User-Agent: Wget/1.8.2
Host: www.juramail.info

Server: Apache/1.3.27 (Unix)
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.1.1

and here is the log of a connection to the website:

I just tried again with build 2002111908 and this build IS still broken on my
computer (Windows 2000 SP3).
When Mozilla no longer tries to connect to http://www.juramail.info/ I can still
go to http://juramail.info/ - just the hostname www.juramail.info no longer works !

WFM with 2002122908/trunk/win2k.
reporter (Steffen): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla
(for example, 1.3a)? if so, please comment again with details. if not, please
resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.

Yes, I can still reproduce the bug with Mozilla 1.3 alpha.
I can successfully trigger the bug this way:
1. Clear Mozilla's cache and history file.
2. Go to http://www.juramail.info/forum/list.php?f=3
3. Click on the first message and then IMMEDIATELY click the second one.
4. You should see Mozilla loading the first message and then the second one.
5. Use the back button twice to go back two pages to
http://www.juramail.info/forum/list.php?f=3
6. Click on the third message.
7. The third message loads but the Mozilla logo doesn't stop spinning. According
to my firewall connection monitor Mozilla has closed all open connections
(except the local PSM loopback of course.)
8. Click the back button to go back to http://www.juramail.info/forum/list.php?f=3
9. Click the fourth message. Mozilla fails to load it !
10. Close all instances of Mozilla and mozilla.exe crashes with the crash log below.
If you try the same procedure but use the URL
http://juramail.info/forum/list.php?f=3 (without the trailing www) the Mozilla
logo also doesn't stop spinning in step 7 but further connection in step 9 don't
fail ?! (I only tried this two or three times so it might be a coincidence.)
