User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020909
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020909
Go to several pages on a single site that isn't in your history (by typing the
addresses in the location bar), but not to the root of that site (e.g.
www.foo.com/dir1, www.foo.com/foo2, www.foo.com/foo3), . Next, type
'www.foo.com' in the location bar, wait till the previously visited url's appear
in the history and press the down arrow. As of that moment, it becomes
impossible to visit simply "www.foo.com", since you can't deselect the entries
in the history anymore.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
(I'll give the example with "www.freepascal.org", since that site is probably
not in your history, but it works with everything
1.Type "http://www.freepascal.org/news.html" in you location bar and press return.
2.Type "http://www.freepascal.org/sdown.html" in you location bar and press return.
3.Type "http://www.freepascal.org" in your location bar and press the down arrow
4. Remove the part after "www.freepascal.org" from the location bar and press return
Actual Results:
You end up at one of the previously visited pages.
Expected Results:
Loaded the main page of "www.freepascal.org"
I think that when you edit an entry that has been selected from the history, the
active history entry should be deselected. It works correctly in Mozilla.

Note that sometimes, when you go to a site, the history is immediately selected
and in that case it's simply impossible to go to an url which is only part of
one of the hitory entries (e.g., I currently have three articles on
"apple.slashdot.org" in my history and when I type "apple.slashdot.org" in the
location bar, this first article's url is immediately selected in the pop-up
history/autocomplete window and I simply cannot go to "apple.slashdot.org" by
typing its address in the location bar).
WorksForMe using Chimera/2002100304 on 10.1.5. Jonas, 20020909 is a pretty old
build by now. Please retest using a recent nightly build.
