[Affected versions]:

  • Firefox Beta 94.0b4 (Build ID: 20211010185747)
  • Firefox Nightly 95.0a1 (Build ID: 20211011084036)

[Affected Platforms]:

  • Windows 10 x64;
  • macOS 11.5.1;
  • Linux Ubuntu 20.04 x64;

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Open the latest Beta build.
  2. Open a New Tab page and navigate to the "about:addons" page.
  3. Enable one of the Recommended Themes from the Themes section.
  4. Switch to the Welcome to Firefox tab.
  5. Navigate through Onboarding until the "Life in color" slide is displayed.
  6. Click the “Not now” button.
  7. Observe what happens next.

[Expected result]:

  • The theme installed through AMO remains enabled.

[Actual result]:

  • The default theme is enabled and the AMO theme gets disabled.

[Notes]:

  • Attached is a screen recording of the issue.

This is super edge case for new user onboarding. I believe its not a regression and behaves same in release.
