bookmarks suddenly load very slowly

Steps to reproduce:
Use my bookmarks from the bookmark menu (drop down)
Actual results:
The bookmarks in the bookmark menu (drop down) take very long to load since the last update (FF93). Or, more precisely, they load (drop down) quickly but it takes a long time before you can select and click on one. I have hundreds of bookmarks but I need them all.
Expected results:
Quickly load and select bookmarks, as in previous versions. It seems to me FF93 is too economical in using resources. See also issue 89996.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.
