That's it. These pages are readily accessible with Netscape 4.79. In general, I don't understand what advantages Mozilla is trying to achieve. So far it seems to be just a quite defective version of Netscape, is vastly slower and full of serious bugs. I'm not going to try any alpha versions to see if any clear up these problems, because they include attempts at things I have no need of, and I have enough problems with your beta versions. I wish you would design in a very CLEAN way to avoid all dealings with any profile management, no matter from what client I try to activate the Mozilla Web browser from. Only I, as only one user profile, wish to use my machine. Ray

Crashes with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.2a) Gecko/20020910 (Mac OS 9.1). Adding keyword "crash". One way to reproduce a crash: 1)Go to http://www.oaklandacura.com/ 2)Hover over the links in the left (red) menu 3) Mozilla crashes Talkbacks: TB12322657K, TB12322420W and TB12322243H (last talkback from crash when I was using "View" - "Page info" when visiting site) My build is rather old - leaving confirmation and an eventually change of platform/OS to someone else.

WFM Build 2002100317 nightly on Windows NT.
I'm confirming the crash with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021015, build ID 2002101508. Talkback ID: TB 126082606. Marking NEW. Modifying summary. Changing Platform/OS to all (from PC/Win98), but I wonder if the crash is mac-only. Feel free to alter my Platform/OS changes.

Summary: Mozilla 1.1b: Browser hangs when trying to access any page at this site. → crash/hangs at http://www.oaklandacura.com
The Mac response described here is different. My Win98SE (Moz 1.1b) response was total failure to disply anything, with a fixed diagonal-arrow cursor. Attempt to simply close Mozilla with Alt-Ctrl-Del causes problems in or crash of Windows. What is unique at this Website that Mozilla can't handle? Raymond A. Chamberlin raych@znet.com
Ray, please try a more recent build and see if the problem persists. You can find the latest builds at ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/.
what version of the java plugin are you using? the red menu is the fphover java applet, which is known to crash older versions of the java plugin: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?product=Browser&component=OJI&long_desc_type=allwordssubstr&long_desc=fphover&&keywords_type=allwords&keywords=crash worksforme with linux trunk build 20021015 and java plugin 1.4.0

In other words - probably a dupe of some other bug. Or WFM. Seems like I messed it up... Doesn't crash for me anymore. Just some flickering. Strange - I downloaded the latest MRJ for Mac classic and installed it. But it had the same version number as the previous one.
I downloaded Moz 1.2b into my Win98SE with Java Plug-in 1.3.1_02. This page still freezes Moz. For some reason, the second out of 5 times the page worked. I cleared the caches after that run. Isn't Moz supposed to work with this version of Java? Ray

Ray, your hang might be related to bug 111944 "JRE 1.3.1 (01a upwards) hangs with fphover.class" Could you get a later plug-in (http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/)?
I test this bug on Solaris: Mozilla 1.2b Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021021 and Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.4.2 Using JRE version 1.4.2-internal Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM No hang happened
I'm sure I sent the first comment here the other day, but I don't see it here. I installed Java2 JRE 1.4.1_01 into Moz 1.2b in Win98SE and found that I no longer had any problem with the site that was previously subject to this bug. I was assume, then, that this bug is dead. (After I removed all of Java1 JRE from my drive except some stuff in the Windows Registry, I was getting a lost-file message each time I started Windows -- until Windows Update had me reinstall its March-4-02 security patch; whereafter, that problem ceased.)
