Attached audio playback recorder

Affected versions

  • Nightly 95.0a1 2021-10-25
  • Firefox 94 beta 9
  • Firefox 93

Affected platforms

  • Ubuntu 21.04 64-bit Wayland

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open several audio files and check that all files are opened and played back correctly:
    http://www.hochmuth.com/mp3/Vivaldi_Sonata_eminor_.mp3 - MP3
    http://www.metadecks.org/software/sweep/audio/demos/beats1.ogg - OGG
    http://tinyurl.com/zdxp4lu - FLAC
  2. Pause / play the audio file

Expected result
All audio files are played back properly.

Actual result
The sound is distorted, there are several interruptions, I attached a sound recording. Sometimes a short sound is played back after the audio file was paused (right at the end of the file I attached).

Regression range

  • Not a regression
  • Given that this is intermittent, I will set the severity field to S3.

Can't reproduce on Fedora 35 and looking at bug 1737793 this might be some setup issue.

Works fine now (tested on 97.0a1 and RC) using the tips provided by Darkspirit in bug 1737793.
