Making Firefox the default browser in Windows 11 is a headache

To change the default browser in Windows 11 requires a lot more work/steps from the user than Windows 10 did.

It looks like Edge is able to take care of all that as a single click though - see 'the "Make default" button makes the browser the new default without additional steps' in the page linked above.
Can we also do this, or is MS using some internal API that is inaccessible to other browsers (yikes!)?

Firefox is supposed to have already done that:

What Windows 11 version did you test with? It works with build 22489 for me.

Ah, I was just reading a blog post about it being an issue for Firefox and assumed the author was experiencing the issue themselves. (I can't find the post now, unfortunately.) If this is actually working then we can close this bug. Sorry for the noise.
