msix will not happen anytime soon. Only good for later Windows 10 versions and not even compatible with Server 2016.
Bug 52052 to provide an msi is still open but not euough devs around to fix this one currently.

:frg, please reconsider this now that id=1817652 is an ongoing effort. This should be reopened.

I don't care much about TB any longer. Days of cooperation are long gone. If I find the time I will do an msi and this is not even likely soon. Other than adding complexity an msix does not add any value to the product. Unless someone steps in and does the work it will not happen. If I reopen the bug it will just rot.

Does a bug exist for an MSI package? MSI isn't a bad format by any means.
