Steps to reproduce:
After updating to 91.3.0 on macOS started to receive constant Gmail IMAP connectivity errors during sync, getting 'connection refused' notification.
However, it works fine on the other account on custom server (and no internet connectivity issues at all).
After receiving this error connection hangs completely, so need to restart Thunderbird to partially refresh emails, some of them are loaded but after doing some manipulations (deleting emails, marking as read, etc), syncing stops again.
Should note that I have a bunch of folders in Gmail, but previously things worked fine.
Actual results:
Emails are not downloaded from server/changes are not uploaded.
Expected results:
Syncing should work fine.

Hm, somehow after number of restarts it went through the issue, and now works well (except that it changed 'Download' flags on some folders).
The thing I did is run and refreshed Mail on iOS, which uses the same account. Given that there is 15 simultaneous IMAP connection limitation maybe something stuck on Apple's side, bombing server with connections, dunno.

Looks like issue is not related to Thunderbird at all but was GMail's issue:
