Using Mozilla 1.2a on RH linux 7.3, installed from RPM's Filling out 'web survey ( forms based ) Brower crashes. Restart browser. Start mail/news window and get prompted by new-account wizard. Account information lost. Has happened more than once. Makes Mozilla mail pretty unusable
This has happened to me on Win2k. Whenever a really bad crash happens (forcing a reboot), preferences are lost, including mail/news settings. I was never able to pinpoint the problem to report a bug, but it happened 90% of the time when Java was running.
crashes -> critical Reporter, can you reliably recreate a crash that duplicates this behavior? If so please list the steps and any necessary settings or likely URL's. Please also list any Talkback incident ID numbers for your crashes.

Hi, I have lost my mail settings about four times. As far as I can remember, each time was associated with mozilla crashing. No talkback screen came up when Mozilla went down. There doesn't seem to be a particular URL that triggers the crash. I installed Mozilla from a set of RPM's ( names like mozilla-1.2a-2002091314_trunk.i386.rpm ) I am not sure if these had talkback enabled. I am not using Mozilla-mail at the moment ( it got too tedious re-entering my details ), but I will have another go and keep better notes. I will try de-installing Mozilla re-installing from the "standard" installer and make sure that talkback is enabled. There is a danger of course that this will make the problem go away ..... Cheers, David
