Problem is NOT in hardware. Just installed Firefox-ESR 91.4.0esr 64-bit, FOUGHT WITH IT to -allow-downgrade, operation is NORMAL as expected.

Actual results:

Typing, appearance of Bookmark toolbar contents, take portions of a minute to display. Still not able to load a page yet, tried to load <www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=test>.
Surprisingly, <about:support> appeared in seconds. Attempting to select-copy User Agent string from <about:support> took about 12 seconds.

Attempting to DESELECT Build ID to start selecting & copying OS ID took closer to 25 seconds.

Terminal repeats same error messages very rapidly on every attempt to display something in browser window:

WebGL 2 Driver Version: 3.2.0 NVIDIA 430.14

Mininum required Nvidia driver version for hardware rendering is 460.32.03. You will encounter instability below it.
Hardware rendering can be enforced with gfx.webrender.all=true.

Please try to find a regression range, if instability has become worse:
$ pip3 install --user mozregression
$ ~/.local/bin mozregression --good 91 --bad 95 --pref gfx.webrender.all:true

Hello! I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 91.4.0 and 97.0a1(2021-12-15) on Ubuntu 20 unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. I have downgraded to an nvidia driver that is bellow 460 for my NVIDIA GTX 1050.

The difference I have managed to observe is the longer loading times on various websites.

Darkspirit is this the issue or there is something else that I am missing? If yes I will gladly try to look for a regression on this issue.

I did flip some of the settings mentioned above to work around other Firefox bugs. I hope they are fixed by now.

I already did a mozregression in order to report the bug (because I couldn't find this one at first). The bisect is larger than I hoped because it was running out of disk space (now showing 35 G free, not sure what happened there). I also can't find out how to repeat the mozregression for the smaller window, because neither the dates / timestamps, nor the full or shortened commits seem to work as good / bad revisions. Anyway, let's not rant about mozregression but I find it highly unintuitive.

Just wanted to mention, that working with websites is possible, but very slow. Title / tab switchng "works" (e.g. the window title is updated immediately for me), but the GUI is slow. Also, bookmarks are loading very slow when opening.

For me, toggling

gfx.webrender.software.opengl = true → false

had positive effect, I can't reproduce any related issues after this change.

What was your full mozregression command? Did you set any prefs?

It was mozregression --bad 95 --good 94 -p ~/.mozilla/firefox/<profile>.default for the first thing, but I confused good / bad once, so I repeated with mozregression --bad 2021-10-25 --good 2021-10-18 -p ~/.mozilla/firefox/<profile>.default. but wasn't able to repeat this with a smaller regression window after it switched to comparing hashes.

I'm not sure actually. I usually don't touch stuff in about:config unless I need to. Usually this was required to work around severe bugs in Firefox. My profile is fairly old, so it might be related to graphic cards issues I had back in 2015 to be honest. But maybe I also did this because it boosted performance. My hardware is very old and Firefox is gettinig slower with every release :-(

I had more trouble with these setting recently, so probably I should leave them at the defaults from now.
