User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla 20021013 If Preferences are set to make only Mail/Newsgroups open when starting Mozilla and one starts Mozilla (which in itself takes a long time; and then (after using Mail to read or send messages) one selects 'Navigator' in the Window menu, the Navigator window appears very quickly, but the actual application takes an incredibly long time to open. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.In Preferences, choose to make just Mail/Newsgroups open when starting Mozilla. 2.Start Mozilla and wait for the Mail window to appear; read or send messages if desired. 3.In the Window menu, select 'Navigator'. 4.Wait … and wait … and still wait. Actual Results: The Navigator window appears, but it takes an age for the Navigator application to open. Expected Results: Navigator should have opened much quicker. Classic theme. Mac G3 (old beige variety), OS 9.2.2
This fault was apparent in earlier builds (such as Mozilla 1.1, to which I have temporarily reverted because of another, more serious, bug in 20021013) also.
Michael, you're saying you initially encountered this bug in build 20021013, as well as 20020826?
Greg, I noticed it with 20020826 (and I'm pretty sure also with earlier builds), but had rather hoped that by 20021013 it might have been improved. So when I experienced it with 20021013, I went back to 20020826 to confirm that it was there also, and it was.

My profound apologies! Yesterday I went through my hard disk, deleting a number of applications that I never use, and today Navigator opens almost instantly! So the problem must have been due to some kind of conflict (curious, though, because it was not an extensions conflict, and the applications that I deleted would not have been running while the problem persisted.)
Resolving WFM per reporter's comment 4. Michael, if you encounter this problem again, feel free to reopen this bug.
