I have an email from efax.com that contains a TIF file attached. The MIME type
is "application/octet-stream", which I know is wrong, but that's a separate issue.
Under Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Scripts & Plugins, I have deselected "Enable
Plugins for Mail & Newsgroups". However, when I click on the TIF attachment, it
appears in my message window. If I ctrl-click on the image, I get the Quicktime
Plug context menu. If plugins are disabled, then how come I'm getting a
plugin's context menu?

I believe that the pref is to not show the plug-in inline when the message is
displayed in the mail window, but if you seelct the attachment the object should
render. Handing this over to the mail folks to see who actually invoked this pref.

Timur, what build ID are you reporting this bug against?
Summary: Disable Plugins for Mail and News doesn't work → Disable Plug-ins for Mail and News doesn't work
I'm marking this bug as invalid because I no longer have that email and I can't
reproduce the problem. Plus, Mac OS 9 is no longer supported.
