i thought there was a bug filed to implement a download manager in chimera, but
couldn't seem to find one. anyhow, how about implementing it in the sidebar? (as
opposed to a standalone window.)
main reason for this rfe is that the download mgr in phoenix is implemented
within its sidebar. it's got its issues, sure, but it looks quite nifty.
will attach screenshot soon.

the top part shows each download in progress (the number is % complete). the
bottom part lists completed downloads, where i've brought up the context menu
for one of the entries.

the problem is that phoenix is designed such that a window will always be open
when the app is running (that's the win/unix paradigm). on mac, you may have the
app running and downloads going with no browser windows open.
i think we should wontfix this. i have a really cool look for a d/l manager
(standalone) from ugo that i'll do when i get some time.
