We have details to help identify which network (aka card type, visa, mastercard etc) a given PAN (primary account number) should belong to. This is a dynamic landscape, with companies updating the range of numbers regularly. We should review these details and the underlying logic on a regular basis. It was last updated in 2020.

This is also true for validating a card number. Expectations of number length could change over time.
