Mozilla crashes without message when trying to 'Find in This Page'.
Bug occurs both when function is chosen from menu and with keyboard shortcut.
Bug reproduced under Gnome 2 using Sawfish WM.
After switching to Metacity WM, it no longer crashes.
Could be related to window creation?
My system:
Mandrake 9.1 (cooker)
gnome2-2.0.1-1mdk
sawfish-1.1a-2mdk
mozilla-1.1-10mdk

Problem also occurs running....
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
running Mac OS 9.2.2
Problem didn't used to occur, now every time I try to do "Find on Page", I get
the stopwatch cursor and it hangs. Could the Find dialog settings be corrupted (???)
I use Mozilla 1.3 alpha (build ID: 2002121217), on RedHat Linux 7.3.
When I use "Find in this page" either in menu bar or "Ctrl+F", my mozilla freeze.
I am using KDE, with these rpms:
kdebase-3.0.0-12
kdelibs-3.0.0-10
However I am also using Mozilla 1.3aphla with Mandrake 8.1 on other system, but
the "find in this page" works fine. A system depending problem?

For what it's worth. I'm seeing the same behavior in Phoenix 0.5 running icewm
version 1.2.7 in Redhat 8.0 with with the 2.4.18-14 kernel. It is always
reproducible and the only way I've found to get out of the hang state is to
killall phoenix-bin processes. Not pretty.

the hang was probably bug 169777, which has been fixed in 1.3.
Mats: are you still seeing this crash with a recent build (1.3 or a nightly)?
If not, please mark this bug WORKSFORME

Searching used to work fine. Now every time I try Control-F or Edit->Find in
this page Mozilla locks up hard. No idea why it stopped working, but I wanted
to let you know that this problem does not seem to be limited to Linux and Mac.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Renaming XUL.mfl fixes it, so that does point at bug 169777. I guess it's time
to upgrade to 1.3.
Actually,
I have the smae problem with one difference. When I use CTRL+F and type a search
string it doesnt crash, it just doesnt' find ANYTHING....
