Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:95.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/95.0

Steps to reproduce:

TLDR: Firefox was unable to load any webpage until I removed the empty ~/.mozilla/firefox/Pending Pings directory.

I was browsing as usual and suddenly I wasn't able to load any new webpage. Yet all other applications could connect just fine to the Internet. So I closed Firefox and tried to restart it, but I always got the "Firefox is already running" message, even after a killall firefox and killall -9 firefox. I removed the lock and .parentlock files in my profile to start Firefox again.

But it was still unable to load any webpage, even when starting it with a new clean profile. After trying to remove various directories, I realized that the solution was to remove ~/.mozilla/firefox/Pending Pings, which was empty.

I'm using Firefox 95.0.2 on Fedora 35.
