Firefox 97 not working on some machines

Steps to reproduce:
Updating to Firefox 97 on some machines is causing issues. Nothing else has changed.
Actual results:
The update causes issues very similar to January 2022's issues where no websites will load, Firefox will not close (unless you force it in task manager and you can't even get into settings.
Expected results:
Downgrading Firefox to 96.0.3 or running Firefox 97 in Win8 compatibility mode seems to get Firefox back up and running again, where you can get into settings and access websites.
I have deleted the firefox profile, removed firefox completely and re-installed etc. I have even bypassed the proxy server in case there was some issue there and pointed the laptop directly to the router. On the particular machine that I was testing on, I can only get Firefox 97 to work if I run it in compatibility mode for windows 8.
However, the laptop is running Windows 10 64 bit version.
On my own computer I am running Firefox 97 and am completely unaffected by whatever the issue is. it doesn't seem to affect all computers equally for some reason.
Update:
I have just found some posts regarding issues with Firefox 97 and Webroot Anti Virus.

I will contact Webroot as well, although I believe that someone has already raised the issue with them as well.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Win32' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.
