The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Panning and Zooming' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

If the line you're typing on its out of view, it's expected behaviour that the browser scrolls to bring it into view.
Is there another browser whose behaviour on Facebook is different, or another site whose behaviour in Firefox is different, that makes you think this is a bug?

Was this a recent regression?
If so, would you run https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/ to narrow down what caused it?

I am having the exact same issue. So it has to be something with Firefox. I sure hope they can fix this bug.

Would you be willing to run https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/ to narrow down what caused it? It would be very helpful in getting this fixed.

Copying from bug 1768330 comment #21
Facebook team located one case where such unexpected scroll jump happens with their text editor framework.
it sounds like, it was focusing on an element in the middle of reconcilation, that could move the scroll position in unexpected way.
https://github.com/facebook/lexical/pull/2262It would be nice to test once the fix gets deployed.

Thanks for the video, it helped us isolate an issue in Lexical. https://github.com/facebook/lexical/pull/2350
We deployed the fix yesterday to Facebook. If you could check again and let us know if you still experience the same problem, that would be much appreciated!
Can anyone who had been able to reproduce this test again?

I'm going to assume this was fixed by the Facebook site change discussed in bug 1768330. Please feel free to reopen if you're still seeing this.
