The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Printing' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

The old code was removed in Firefox 97 (in #1702501) and the old preference therefore is being ignored.
There is no new way to bypass the combined print preview/setup overlay, but bug requests have been filed to add:
(A) Preference and Policy key (#1712104)
(B) New keyboard shortcut to directly call the system dialog (#1667950)
It may be some time before there are updates on those (Firefox 98-99).
I can't mark duplicates, but bug 1712104 might cover this.
The flatpak version will not work with firefox's print dialog (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1688720) and having this option worked around the problem nicely.
