Add a New Folder button in the Add Bookmark sheet to allow the creation of a new
folder like it is done in the sidebar.
The new folder is added at the end of the currently selected folder (Bookmarks,
Entertainment, etc).
Confirming as an RFE. It could either be a New Folder button, or a New Folder...
menu item.

Summary: RFE New Folder button in Add Bookmark sheet → Implement New Folder function on Add Bookmark dialog
Greg, if you mean a New Folder... menu item inside the Bookmark menu itself,
you'll not have the possibility to choose where the new folder will be stored.
With the button, select an existing bookmark folder, click on Add New Folder...
button and a folder is created inside the selected folder. If nothing is
selected, it is added at the end.
This RFE should be extended to also implement 'Add a New Separator' button.

That means Add Bookmarks will show a dialog/sheet with:

Name: 'urlname field'
Create in: 'bookmarks folders popup'
[x] Bookmark All Tabs
(Add a New Folder) (Add a New Separator) (Cancel) (OK)
Mockup at http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=108649&action=view
(The ... are missing in the New Folder button)
for the record i disagree with the extension of this bug... considering
separators don't currently exist in Camino
I think this bug is dragging the sheet off in the wrong direction. The user
asked to bookmark the current page. Presenting them with the sheet in comment 3
(2 input fields, a checkbox and four buttons, at least one of which isn't
relevant to the command the user executed) is needlessly complex. "New Folder"
(as per the bug summary) might be useful, but "Create Separator" should
definitely be left as something done in the bookmark manager.

Personally I'd like us to fix bug 151093 and then remove the checkbox from this
sheet.
I agree with Bruce, keep it simple.
I often find myself wanting to make a new folder when adding a bookmark. Can we
have some disclosure-type UI to hide the detail until it's needed?
A "New Folder..." button would be great to have in the "Add Bookmark" sheet.

Targeting for 1.1.
Target Milestone: --- → Camino1.1
I think a button for this makes perfect sense on the sheet, but the action
doesn't make sense where it currently is (the menu). Can "Add Bookmark Folder"
be moved from the menu to the sheet?
What about putting a "New Folder..." option in the "Create In" popup menu? It seems like most people who would want to create a new folder would want to start putting bookmarks in it.

On second thought, that would open up the can of worms of "Where do you want to create the new folder?"

What if we did something a little closer to a typical Mac OS X "Save" dialog (something like what Simon suggested in comment 8)? Our current sheet would be the "simple" interface (we might even further simplify it a bit), and we could put a more complex interface in the sheet to be revealed when clicking the little Aqua arrow button at the right of the bookmark name field. (To clarify, this button does not currently exist in our sheet, but does exist in standard Open/Save panels.)

Anything we do here we need to do in conjunction with bug 287708 (see smfr's bug 287708 comment 9 for the current plan for the sheet).

the ability to add subfolder after subfolder would be very nice (without leaving the dialog). I would very much like to have the ability to do like internet explorer's favorites in an explorer-style tree menu. trees are hopefully not hard to implement (at least in Windows). could you add this to the Windows version as well? it's sorely lacking! I would change this bug to all platforms, but I can't.

I tend to organize a heirarchy of stuff. I would prefer not to put everything in one folder if I can avoid it. I would like to avoid the Organize Bookmarks section as much as possible.

There is no Windows version of Camino; if you want this in Firefox this is the wrong bug for that.
This enhancement remains unresolved eight years since it was first suggested and its need is reexperienced every time a Camino user wants to save a bookmark into a new folder.
