2002101808 Mac OS 9.1 I've managed to not get a horizontal scrollbar a couple of times. 1. Restart Mozilla (I have the default homepage) 2. Open JS console 3. type/copy som garbage in the console field like javascript:(blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla) 5. Click on "Evaluate" 4. A *few* times - no horizontal scrollbar Another way to reproduce (more often): 1. Restart Mozilla 2. Open JS console 3. Type javascript:(blabla) in the console's field a couple (two) of times. 4. Hold down the mouse at the lower right corner and drag to shrink 5. Notice the lack of a horizontal scrollbar - look at the attached screenshot below But what occurs much more often is the lack of a *vertical* scrollbar: 1. Restart Mozilla (I have the default homepage) 2. Open JS console 3. type javascript:(blabla) in the console's field 4. Click on "Evaluate" several times and notice the lack of a verical scrollbar.

Yeah, but when you click where the scrollbar should be, the content of the JS console moves, so this must be some UI thing.
I just saw this bug again on Linux: -Both horizontal and vertical scrollbar was missing. -I could *not* scroll by mouse-wheeling or clicking in white area where scrollbars should have been. -Clicking menu-items on top of window had no effect -Right-clicking brought up a context menu, but the menu-items were unusable. Closing the JS console and re-opening it seemed to cure the bug this time.

Just opened the JS console for the first time, and saw lots and lots of messages, scroll wheel worked, but no vert scroll bar. Cleared, closed, and reopend, then evaluated "bleh" multiple times and a scroll window appeared. *shrugs* Cheers, Karl P

[Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212] Confirming bug: (this is a one time observation...) *opened JS.C: *no v.sb, but clicking on the empty space moves the output. *no h.sb, no matter how narrow I make the window. *closed and reopened the JS.C: *v.sb is there now. *h.sb appears when the window is made narrow enough.

[Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212] This time, I had another case than comment 12: 1. Start Mozilla (and Messenger) 2. (work with it) 3. First opening of JS.C Space was reserved for v.sb and h.sb, but they did not appear, and clicking on them was useless, resizing too. Closing and reopening the JS.C cured the problem.

2nd time that I forgot: I suggest to reduce Severity from Normal to Minor; Unless someone says that closing & reopening is not a workaround in some cases.

I've experienced the lack of scrollbars (horizontal or vertical) in the JS console in build 2003010308 with WinXP.

I see this on Linux, (with the close/reopen workaround), but not on Windows 9x.

This seems to occur whenever the window changes in a way that (unchanging) content which previously fitted doesn't fit anymore. I get this with 2003021008 on Win2k/SP2: 1) Set the filter to "Errors". 2) Generate some warnings (e.g. multiple references to document.all) 3) Set the filter to "All" or "Warnings"

[Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312] Confirming my comment 12: *(Worked with Navigator/Mail&News/etc) *Opened J.S. Console *both sb: are not drawn, but space is reserved, and clicking can move the display. (The display is too large and long to fit at one time.) *(Workaround: Close & reOpen) Reply to comment 17: *I do have this bug on my W95.
