[Affected versions]:

• Firefox 98.0b6 Build ID: 20220217185748

[Affected Platforms]:

• Windows 10 x64
• MacOS 11.6
• Ubuntu 20.04

[Prerequisites]:

• Have the Firefox browser en-US build installed/extracted.
• Have the “browser.search.region” pref set to the “US” value.
• Have the user.js file copied to your PC.

[Steps to reproduce]:

1. Create a new Firefox profile but do not open it.
2. Go to the recently created profile folder and paste the "user.js" from the prerequisites.
3. Open the Firefox profile.
4. Open a new "Private Window".
5. Click the “Learn more” link from the “Private Window” section.
6. Observe what happens.

[Expected result]:

• The “Common Myths about Private Browsing” page is opened in a new tab.

[Actual result]:

• The “Common Myths about Private Browsing” page is opened in the same tab.

[Notes]:

• We consider that this enhancement will improve the user experience right now. If the “Learn more” link is clicked, the user has no longer the chance to interact with the “VPN Promo”.

Opening the links in new tab is a code change and if not Fx98 can be implemented in Fx99 for Firefox Focus promo. NI @venetia for product take on this enhancement. Thanks

I‘ve verified this issue using the latest Firefox Nightly 99.0a1 (Build ID: 20220302065857) on Windows 10 x64, macOS 11.6, and Ubuntu 20.04.

• The “Common Myths about Private Browsing” page is opened in a new tab when the “Learn more” link is clicked.
