We don't have Linux Mint test environments so I've tested in:
- Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS:
-
typing "firefox" will correctly open the canonical/snap install of Firefox Release browser v97.0, even if some warnings are being displayed:
~$ firefox
[GFX1-]: No GPUs detected via PCI
[GFX1-]: glxtest: process failed (received signal 11) -
typing "firefox" will correctly open the store install of Firefox Release browser v97.0.1, without showing any kind of errors or warnings
- Ubuntu 21.10 LTS:
-
typing "firefox" will correctly open the canonical/snap install of Firefox Release browser v97.0, without showing any kind of errors or warnings
-
typing "firefox" will correctly open the store install of Firefox Release browser v97.0.1, without showing any kind of errors or warnings
This being said, I don't think the reported issue would reproduce in Ubuntu. We are unable to confirm it because we don't have Linux Mint.
I will set its component to WebRender because the same error was found in bug 1744389, which has WebRender component set.

That's desired and good.

No, that would be a problem (bug 1737078).

Does this happen with the release/nightly binaries produced by Mozilla?
