Details

Download manager does not open under tools - Download Manager.
Cannot download any files. This has been reported elsewhere but not with the
same symptom. Error message is "could not be saved because the source file could
not be read" which I can see in the source code at
http://cvs2.oeone.com/index.cgi/penzilla3/mozglobal/locale/en-US/global/nsWebBrowserPersist.properties?annotate=1.1

To be honest I have downloaded quite a few files over the last months and I have
never bothered to clear out the download managers history but I do have plenty
of hard disk space left - at least 10 Gb so I doubt this is the reason. I have
removed and reinstalled Mozilla. Incidently I get a message about java when I
start up but this has been there for some time and java still works. I am using
build 1.2b 20021016
remove components\compreg.dat

To enable Downloading, delete 'compreg.dat' in the 'components' Subfolder. Than
restart Mozilla new. Download will now work. Mozilla will create a new .dat-file.

Michael
Thanks Michael. Deleting compreg.dat made it WFM. Sorry for the duplicate.
