User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021015 Phoenix/0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021015 Phoenix/0.3 I've only noticed this behaviour at the URL; if I have minimized Mozilla (mostly Phoenix 0.3, but I've reproduced this in Mozilla 2002091014) then restore, I sometimes can't open a new tab with ctrl-t. File > new tab does work though. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.open www.theage.com.au 2.select "opinion" from the left hand side menu 3.minimize Mozilla 4.restore Mozilla 5.try ctrl-t for new tab, tab doesn't open Actual Results: A new tab doesn't appear after pressing ctrl-t Expected Results: A new tab should have opened
heskil, I just tried on windows 2K (netscape trunk build: 2002-10-21-08-TRUNK), it worked fine. I tried ctrl+t and it opens a new tab.

Patty; I can definitely, sometimes, reproduce this behaviour, but mostly on that website. I tried it again today for instance, and got it to happen. I've tried a few other sites and managed to get the same behaviour at http://www.guardian.co.uk/comment/0,6957,178089,00.html I thought it might be the banner ads in some way, but lots of sites have banner ads. *shrug* I'll play around with it some more and see if I have to click through the main page to get it to happen, or if it happens even if I directly access that URL. Sorry I can't be more help.

OK; I've had better results with reproducibility if I open http://www.theage.com.au/news/opinion/index.html directly. Ctrl-t works fine. Then click opinion on the LHS menu, and the page should reload. Now minimise the window, (as an aside, I have the taskbar set to autohide, so I let the taskbar roll out of sight), then bring it back up and try ctrl-t. I had all the tabs closed, including the tab bar itself, before minimising.

Mmmm, I think you are mistaken. This doesn't seem to be a plugin bug, but rather a focus bug. Try this, there are no plugins in use (that I know of!) kt.zork.net click on kernel traffic (in top LHS corner, not in middle of screen) click on same link again minimise mozilla reopen can't use keyboard shortcuts until you click on the window (or use a menu or something) I think that reopening a window from the minimised state should give you access to keyboard shortcuts, and in certain circumstances it won't
See also bug 166501 for non-plugin related focus issues
