User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:98.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/98.0

Steps to reproduce:

Upgraded to a 4k monitor from a 720p monitor. This was weeks ago, ive reset many times since then.

Actual results:

The text of the files ive downloaded is tiny and unreadable on a 4k monitor.

Expected results:

The text should be normal sized and legible.

I have heard this happens when developers do not correctly implement DPI scaling for higher DPI monitors. I dont know if this is what happened here.

Please see the attached screenshot.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Downloads Panel' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Downloads Panel

This might be due to a sizing factor we set for the size in the downloads panel: https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/478ecccb085b7efd3c4773edb0480a7b2b16754c/browser/themes/windows/downloads/downloads.css#17

We'll need to look into adjusting that value to have it account for higher DPI screens.

Would you mind sharing your windows screen / dpi settings?

It's kind of confusing that the tab text is a reasonable size; I wouldn't expect them to differ substantially...

My resolution is 3840 x 2160 at 60hz. Scaling is set to 150% (recommended). This is on windows 10. If you want more info let me know.

I can read tabs, settings, bookmark window, and everything else just fine. Somehow the download window is different.

I was able to fix it. Somehow my titlebar font size was set to be too low. By using the info on this page:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/19150-change-title-bar-text-size-windows-10-a.html

I was able to edit my windows registry to set my titlebar fonts to size 14 instead of whatever it was before. That seemed to fix it. Im not sure why the downloads panel uses this font scaling and settings/bookmarks etc do not, but there you go.

Thatnks for the update. Yeah, that's confusing. It appears to be caused by https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/a352cc827575823676717d53766c39710b54201a/browser/components/downloads/content/downloads.css#93 using font: caption, which seems surprising.
